SOARING WITH HONORS AT OUR RECENT INSPECTION

We are beyond thrilled and blessed! The planned inspection of the Joy Village happened last week and it was very successful. To receive government approval for our orphanage there is a planned inspection that happens every so often and we were up. This inspection was super comprehensive with a panel of 14 officers from different Government Units that were divided up to evaluate the Joy Village in the following areas: 

1.  Education and Religion – They were happy that the children attended public schools and were knowledgable of their studies. They found the children to be very spiritual and talented since they could sing and present bible verses. They recommended we look into introducing musical Instruments.
 
2.  Physical Infrastructure – They found the walls were well painted, clean and neat. They noted that they were happy the windows were well fixed and no child could escape. They indicated the Joy Village was very clean, neat, tidy and well-organized. They also noted that the bathrooms had clean toilets, all were flushing, and the sinks operated well with clean water.
 
3.  Kitchen – The kitchens were found to be spacious, food preparation was good and they were impressed by the fresh food and vegetables - it was noted that the menu was impressive. They recommended that the mamas hang their Food Handling Certificates in the kitchen area (they already have these certificates from the Ministry of Health).

4. Records – They were very much impressed with the records. They noted the children’s files were well-maintained, the Staff files were neat. This area even scored 98%.
