GIVING BACK
TWO EVMS STUDENTS SHARING WITH OUR FRIENDS AT NAZARETH

Several EVMS students travelled to Nazareth Hospital outside of Nairobi, Kenya this spring to work at the hospital and learn from Dr. James, the resident surgeon. While there, they spent time at the Tree of Lives’ Joy Village in addition to serving in the hospital. Two students, Noaa Spiekermann and Meghan Carter, had the idea upon their return that they could donate the short white lab coats and scrubs that EVMS students will no longer be using to the staff at Nazareth. Once medical students become residents they trade in their short white coats for long ones, hence an abundance of unneeded coats floating around. Working with their classmates they collected lots of white coats and sets of scrubs. They washed, bleached, folded and wrapped them in plastic bags and the summer team delivered all of them this week! What a thoughtful and generous gift from these special students!
