MEET ALICE - A TRUE BLESSING
The Allamano School is an amazing place located on the grounds of Nazareth Hospital that provides hope, education and Christian learning to its students. It is a primary remedial school serving children of tea-pickers who live-on 500-700 shillings a month - which is equal to less than $2 a day. The Allamano School gives these children a valuable education, specialized attention, and additional school supplies and food to help them succeed.
Alice was a young girl that attended the Allamano School. She was an orphan with no dad or mom and was under the care of her grandparents. She attended and graduated from the Allamano School with good studies and went on as a scholar and graduated with a secondary high school degree. She has also gone on and benefited from a college course study.
During COVID Alice had a vision to start an organization called the Helping Hands Foundation. This group provides support and mentorship to young adults. She commented, "I want young adults to realize that they have love from others and that there is hope for a better life." She enjoys spending time with children and young adults to help them come up with solutions to overcome their environment and health issues - whether it is transportation, food insecurity or medical direction. "Its not that I have lots of money or gifts to offer, but I believe that by spending time with those in need - I can touch someone's heart," exclaims Alice.
We are so proud of the work she is doing and how she is continuing to bless others!
The difference that you make in a child's life is eternal. We appreciate all who sponsor children in the 167 Club and through our Scholar's Program. You are a blessing!
