UP FOR DEBATE! JOY VILLAGE KIDS PRACTICE PUBLIC SPEAKING

Our Joy Village children have been learning the art of debate and public speaking. The Residential Coordinator, Mary, arranged for the children to practice their public speaking skills in a comfortable group setting. The goal of the debates are to help the children gain confidence, courage and to think on their feet. They are also learning to express themselves through words and well-thought out ideas. Some of the topics have included the advantages and disadvantages of money and the advantages and disadvantages of trees and much more. The children are truly enjoying the debates and keep asking to have more topics and work toward more advanced skills.
