HELPING TO END HUNGER

One of the amazing programs offered through the Holy Family Center is our food program. This support program provides our HIV positive clients at Nazareth Hospital and its' surrounding sites nutritional food options. Good nutrition supports overall health and helps maintain the immune system. It also helps people with HIV maintain a healthy weight and absorb HIV medicines.

Most of the Holy Family Center clients have been affected in some way by Covid 19, leaving many of them jobless and even more vulnerable to hunger and food insecurity. The food packs are given when clients come in for their HIV drug checks. Typically the food packs contain maize flour, beans, and porridge flour, providing them with health and filling options at mealtime.

Providing nutritious food can ensure better health outcomes that will reach beyond the COVID-19 pandemic.
